“I’m Spiritual But I’m Not Religious” so she Said: Being Christian Without Christianity

I don’t know how many times I heard someone say to me “I’m spiritual but I’m not religious.” This is such a dangerous statement. I usually reply “You do know that the devil is pure spirit, right?” The thing is that I don’t care how smart you are, the devil is smarter. He knows way more than you and on some levels; he knows you and your weaknesses more than you do. He has been studying mankind for a very long time. I have many thoughts regarding this subject, way too many for just one post. I decided to break down the post into a series.

Being Christian Without Christianity

There is a weird phenomenon that happens when a Christian that maintains the identity or should I say the title of Christian without the structure of the church and Jesus’ teachings. These Christians try to mold God into their likeness and not the other way around. They start putting words in God’s mouth which contradict the Word. They seem to think that the 10 commandments are really just guidelines. And, that the Church’s teachings are just about a bunch of old guys trying to control the masses.

I think it is very dangerous when a public figure promotes something complete opposite of laws of God and tells people that they know what they are talking about because they are Catholic. Politicians like Pat Quinn, Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi who proclaim they are Catholic but also promote agendas that are completely opposite of the Church teachings. These politicians are very dangerous. For instance, in the gospel according to Nancy Pelosi (I’m being sarcastic, it was actually a press conference), she says she holds her Catholic faith very dear and takes it very serious but then she says “abortion is sacred ground”. What? The Catholic Church is very clear on the act of abortion. “Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.” To read more about what the Catholic Church teaches regarding life, please visit here.

I pray for Nancy Pelosi and all the politicians who twist the truth for their agenda. I also pray for the people who listen to them and think that their words are the truth. It is scary to think how many people believe that “abortion is sacred ground” now because of Pelosi.
